Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for every Adventure Alternative Nepal trip. We cannot let you join a trek or expedition without it.
Many standard policies cover trekking only up to 4,000 m or 5,000 m. Check the small print. For Everest Base Camp, Manaslu Circuit, or any expedition, you need a policy that explicitly covers the highest altitude you will reach. We recommend World Nomads Explorer, Global Rescue, or Austrian Alpine Club.
Before departure, email bookings@adventurealternativenepal.com with your insurer name, policy number, 24-hour emergency assistance phone number, and a copy of the policy summary page.
A single helicopter evacuation from above 4,000 m can cost US$5,000–15,000. Without insurance, hospitals and operators in Nepal will request immediate cash payment. We are not able to advance these costs.
