This agreement governs your clinical placement at one of our partner hospitals in Nepal.
Scope of placement
You will be placed in a supervised observational and limited-participation role at the hospital and department confirmed in your placement letter. You will not perform invasive procedures or independent decision-making.
Supervision
A named consultant or registrar supervises you at all times during clinical hours. Adventure Alternative Nepal also assigns a 24/7 local mentor for non-clinical support.
Confidentiality
- Patient information is confidential. Do not photograph patients, charts, or imaging.
- Do not share identifiable case details on social media or with any third party.
- Case write-ups for your home university must be anonymised.
Conduct
- Wear appropriate clinical attire and your home institution's ID at all times.
- Respect local cultural and religious norms in patient interactions.
- Report any clinical incident, needlestick, or exposure to your supervisor and mentor immediately.
Required documentation
- Proof of medical school enrolment and current good standing.
- Vaccinations: Hepatitis A & B, Typhoid, MMR, Tetanus, COVID-19, JE recommended.
- Indemnity insurance from your home institution and personal travel insurance (see Insurance Requirements).
Certification
Upon successful completion you will receive a signed certificate from the partner hospital and an evaluation report suitable for your home institution.
Termination
Adventure Alternative Nepal and the hospital reserve the right to terminate the placement for breach of conduct, confidentiality, or safety policies, without refund.
