We collect only what we need to organise safe, well-prepared trips for you — and we never sell your data.
Data we collect
- Account & booking — name, date of birth, passport details, nationality, contact information, dietary and medical notes.
- Payment — processed by our licensed payment partners; we store only the last four digits and brand of the card.
- Health & insurance — required for high-altitude clearances and emergency response.
- Site usage — anonymised analytics about which pages you visit and which buttons you click.
How we use it
- Organising your trip, permits, insurance verification, and emergency contacts.
- Communicating itinerary updates, weather advisories, and post-trip follow-up.
- Improving our website and trip design (in aggregate, not individually identifiable).
Sharing
We share data only with partners required to deliver your trip — guides, lodges, airlines, hospitals, insurance providers, and government permit offices. We never sell personal data to advertisers.
Retention
Booking records are kept for 7 years to meet Nepalese accounting requirements. Health information is destroyed within 90 days of trip completion unless an incident report requires longer retention.
Your rights
You may request a copy, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing privacy@adventurealternativenepal.com. EU/UK residents have additional rights under GDPR; California residents under CCPA.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest. Access is limited to staff who need it, logged, and reviewed quarterly.
