Our Formal Credentials
Adventure Alternative Nepal is a fully registered tour operator under the Ministry of Tourism in Nepal with licensing number **N° 63451/065/66**.
We are active, certified members of the **Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN)** and the **Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA)**. We hold the correct liability insurance in place and full medical insurance policies for all of our field staff and porters.
We operate a absolute policy for keeping your money safe: by separating clients' money into a secure **dollar client account** which remains untouched until the actual trip takes place. We provide clear accounting procedures, receipts, and VAT invoices for every payment.
BS 8848 Expedition Standard
To ensure the highest possible safety, our team has undertaken training in the UK with regards to **BS 8848**—the official British Standard for organizing and managing visits, fieldwork, expeditions, and adventurous activities outside the UK.
"BS 8848 specifies operational requirements for organizers of adventurous and educational activities abroad including university fieldwork, adventure holidays, charity challenges, and high-altitude expeditions. The standard aims to reduce risk from injury or illness, proving safe practice."
